How Affiliate Links Work
When you see a link on Basement Defense that goes to a product on Amazon or another retailer, it's very likely an affiliate link. This means that if you click on that link and then make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from the retailer.
This commission is how we keep Basement Defense running. It helps cover the costs of our research, website maintenance, and other operational expenses, allowing us to continue providing free, helpful content about sump pumps.
Why We Use Affiliate Links
Our primary goal at Basement Defense is to help you make informed decisions about sump pumps for your home. To do this, we spend many hours researching products, comparing specifications, and analyzing countless customer reviews.
Affiliate commissions provide a way for us to fund this work without charging you for access to our content. It's a common model for review and information sites, and it allows us to focus on delivering high-quality, research-based recommendations.
Our Commitment to Honesty
We want to be absolutely clear: our editorial content is never influenced by affiliate partnerships or the potential for commissions. Our recommendations are based solely on our research into product performance, features, value, and what we believe are the best choices for various needs and budgets.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. This doesn't change our commitment to giving you unbiased information. If we don't think a product is good, we won't recommend it, regardless of any potential commission.
How We Choose Products
We don't physically test every sump pump ourselves. Instead, our process involves in-depth research, which includes:
- Analyzing manufacturer specifications and data.
- Reading and synthesizing hundreds, sometimes thousands, of customer reviews from various retail sites to understand real-world performance and common issues.
- Consulting expert opinions and industry resources.
- Comparing features, warranties, and pricing across different brands and models.
Our aim is to provide comprehensive, data-driven insights that you can trust.
No Extra Cost to You
Clicking an affiliate link and making a purchase through it will not increase the price you pay for the product. The commission we receive comes directly from the retailer, not from your wallet. The price you see on Amazon or any other linked store is the same price you would pay if you went directly to that site without clicking our link.
Final Notes
Your trust is incredibly important to us. We strive for transparency in everything we do. If you have any questions about our affiliate disclosure or how we operate, please don't hesitate to visit our Contact page. We're always happy to clarify.
Thank you for supporting Basement Defense. Your use of our affiliate links helps us continue to be a valuable resource for finding the best sump pumps to protect your home.
